The Social District neighborhood in Woonsocket, Rhode Island is one of the lowest income neighborhoods in the United States. The area includes the 15-acre World War II Veterans Memorial Park, which is surrounded by brick mills, high-rise apartments, triple deckers, and an office and shopping district. 

In the 1970s, Woonsocket was called a "lost city". In response, the city entered a resurgence phase, which included the creation of a new downtown in the Social Flatlands area. 

Woonsocket is home to the corporate headquarters of CVS Health, Landmark Medical Center, the Museum of Work and Culture, and the American-French Genealogical Society. The city has a mix of urban and suburban feel, with many families and liberal residents.
